Fostering education, health, community.

Our philanthropic activities support the work of educational, health, and creative institutions to elevate the quality of our communities, improve lives, and make the world a better place.

At the University of Chicago, the Joe and Rika Mansueto Library—designed by Helmut Jahn and immediately recognizable by the domed glass of its Grand Reading Room—opened in 2011. The library introduced leading-edge technologies for book storage and retrieval, conservation, and digitization, connecting scholars to source material in new ways on-site and online. The Mansueto Institute for Urban Innovation is a multidisciplinary laboratory that equips an urbanizing world with data-driven insights that promote creative, sustainable, and people-focused planning and help drive improved urban policy decisions.

Mansueto High School is a public charter school in Brighton Park, on Chicago’s Southwest Side, located on the site of a former cola-bottling plant. The school offers International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement classes and emphasizes collaboration, family involvement, and career paths that enact positive change. It is run by the Noble Network of Charter Schools.

We also provide support to Teach For America, the Better Government Association, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, the University of Chicago, and the Art Institute of Chicago, among other nonprofits.
