Joe Mansueto founded the investment research firm Morningstar in his Chicago apartment in 1984 with a simple idea: to bring institutional-quality information to individuals to help them make better investments. Today, Morningstar is a global, publicly traded company with more than 7,000 employees that continues to shape how investors access information and make financial decisions. Mansueto became executive chairman of the company in 2017.
